Actress Julie Benz is taking on a new role: fiancée!

The former Dexter star, 39, is engaged to her boyfriend of four years, marketing executive Rich Orosco, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

Orosco, 38, popped the question with a customized Kwiat cushion-cut diamond and platinum engagement ring – complete with a diamond frame and milgrain edge band – on Sunday in the backyard of the home they share in Los Angeles.

About Held Hostage:

Ripped from the headlines, the film is based on the true story and book of the same title by Michelle Renee ( Benz plays Michelle Renee/Estey, an abused teenage runaway that escapes the streets and climbs the corporate ladder as a single mother to become one of the youngest bank executive’s for one of the largest banks in the world. Benz’s character is then kidnapped by three masked gunmen, held hostage for 14 hours and forced to rob a bank to save her only child’s life while they are both wired to explode.

Julie wins an Eyegore award

Julie was at Universal Studios last night for the 6th Eyegore Awards where she was one of the recipients of the gargoyle statue.  When asked where she was going to keep it, she replied:

“[Between] my Darla action figure and my Dexter bobblehead, That’s where it’s going to go.”
